Bottom Searching Lake Michigan
Today was hot and sunny, Lake Michigan was coorperating and though we did not locate the wreck we were after, at the least we know where it is not. Now all we have to do is adjust the search and try, try again. The therocline on the first dive was at ~ 40 feet indicated by your fingers and toes suddenly freezing and the loss of visibility. Below the particulate cloud the visibility improved a lot . One item that was located looked like an old anchor but upon “hands on” investigation turned out to be a part of a tree. That shadow had us going for a few minuites. On the second dive, in a slightly different location, we noticed the temperature delta started earlier at about 33 feet and it was still darn cold on the bottom but very refreshing considering how hot we were on the surface in our wet suits. Yea, I know, get a dry suit. Maybe next year:) All in all a very pleasant way to spend a Saturday in July.
