Last Dive of February – Niles
With the river ice mostly gone we returned to the Marmont launch site in Niles to get wet and stretch out the wetsuits least they shrink from lack of use. We enjoyed some light snow with hardly a breeze, air temperture was 33F, water at 34F, ~3 feet visibility and a stiff current. Would not have wanted to lose the dive flag line as it would have required quite a swim. One certainly needed a river stick today and a few extra pounds of weight were necessary. If you didnt have the weights just grab a large rock or tuck a few bricks under your weight belt or place in your BC pockets (as some did:). All came out that went in – a good day & good dive!
