Description: Kirk and Darrin ventured back to Lake 16 for the third dive there this season. This was the first however without a layer of ice on the surface. The air temperature at the beginning of the dive was 62 degrees F and when they left the site it had crept up to a pleasant 68 degrees F.  The site was in good condition and the vis was about 20 feet.  Water temperature at the max depth of the dive (79 ft) was 36 degrees.  They followed the lines to most of the local underwater objects.  There would be more photos, but Darrin lost is camera towards the begging of the dive. He did take a few pictures of Kirk before that happened, but that has not been linked to the cause of the loss.

Towards the end of the dive with 1000lbs in his 80 Darrin switched over to a 30 pony. The second stage free flowed for a bit but after turning the valve off and then slowly back on it worked.

On the way back to the boat ramp both Kirk and Darrin noticed half a dozen small (1 to 4 inches) dead fish on the bottom between the sandbar and the boat ramp. It seems unusual to see this many dead fish in one area there.

Another group of divers showed up as the club exited the water.

Good things: Nice early spring day with no rain and good vis.

Things to improve: Don’t lose an underwater camera. There is a loose board on the platform and we should secure down our next time there.
