Dive Report – Ice Dive 2/6/2010

Description: This was a modified ice dive. We cut three test holes to try and location the platform.Kirk and Bob had used previous experience to locate the general area. Kirk tried his hand held depth finder, but the holes were not over the platform. We opened the third hole large enough for Bob in a dry suit diver to get in the water. We were about 5 feet off of vertical so we opened the hole to be large enough for three divers. We took the dive line the Bob was on and connected it to the platform. We had two ice shanties to change in.
Good things: The vis was amazing!! It was a sunny day and we had a great, safe dive.
Things to improve for next time: Find the spot for the hole right away. A little less wind and a touch warmer.
