Muddies attended the “Ghost Ships Festival” held March 13th & 14th in Milwaukee, WI.
The Ghost Ships Festival showcased exhibits from major gear manufacturers, a few travel destinations, a few local dive shops and training agencies, but the draw to this festival is the Shipwreck Programs being delivered.
At this event you will be among the best of the diving elite which brings together explorers, historians, and adventurers from all over the country.
It was hard to pick a presentation better than another, but one I found special was the one titled “Pioneer Shipwreck Hunters on the Great Lakes” that was presented by Paul Ehorn. It was certainly a time travel trip when he spoke of the shipwreck hunters of the lake from the 50s through the 70s, telling tales about the men and the equipment they used in those days. Some of the men addressed in the presentation included: Dick Race, John Steele, Gene Turner, Kent Bellrichard, Dave Trotter, and many, many others.
